Easy Sailing Greece FAQs (frequently-asked questions)

Category: Main » FAQ regarding the arrival and embarkation on a charter yacht

Question
·  PREPARATION OF ARRIVAL
·  LATE ARRIVALS
·  PROVISIONING
·  TRANSPORTATION
·  EXTRAS
·  CHECKIN IN YOUR YACHT
·  CHECKIN OUT FROM YOUR YACHT

Answer
·  PREPARATION OF ARRIVAL

Two weeks before charter starts we shall send you final BOARDING INSTRUCTIONS (name of the boat, pier of marina), and we will reconfirm you the meeting point, EASY SAILING's representative name and his mobile telephone number so you can be assisted accordingly. At this time we should have received from you:

  • Flight number, arrival time, final number of passengers
  • Crew-list (passport numbers, full addresses, emergency phone numbers)
  • Copies of skipper's and co-skipper's licences (2) or sailing resumes
  • Provisioning list completed (if client wishes so)

·  LATE ARRIVALS

For arrivals after 18:30, we strongly recommend that you should ask us to arrange a transfer service from the arrival airport directly to the yacht.

·  PROVISIONING

Supermarkets or smaller grocery stores are available in all bases and departure points at a walking distance. In many bases a transportation service from a local supermarket is provided free of charge. Provisions can be delivered by us directly to the yacht and can be paid on the spot, only if we receive a provisioning list at latest 10 days before embarkation.

·  TRANSPORTATION

Transportation from the airport to the harbour and from the harbour to the airport can be arranged in advance. We can provide a bus (or a minibus), limousine or taxi, all at an extra charge, payable in Greece directly to EASY SAILING upon embarkation.

·  EXTRAS

All extras such as skipper, hostess, windsurf, spinnakers/blisters, should be ordered at least one month prior to embarkation. We will try to honour last minute requests, but cannot guarantee availability.

·  CHECKIN IN YOUR YACHT

According to the contract the embarkation time is at 17:00h but most of the times the yachts are ready for charter quite earlier.
When you will arrive at the departure base, you should proceed to the meeting point where a briefing, will take place. During the briefing we will inform you of the weather forecast possibilities, hazards close to the marina, delivery and return procedures, itineraries etc. We will also inform you how to proceed in case of an emergency or problems with the yacht and where/how to seek for help. Settlement of the security deposit guarantee & any other financial matters will also take place (if not already done).
Please note that port authorities may demand to see skipper and co-skipper's license or their sailing resumes, so please do not forget to carry this short of documentation together with you. When the briefing is over, the base manager will lead the crew to the yacht, where the responsible person of the yacht will go through the inventory list and explain all technical things onboard. The so-called "acceptance statement" or hand-over form should be then signed by your side, where any existing minor damages to the yacht should be reported. The time you need to take-over the yacht is part of your rented charter time.

·  CHECKIN OUT FROM YOUR YACHT

According to the contract the disembarkation time is at 09:00h. All clients are kindly advised to be back to the port of disembarkation the night before. Check out time should be pre-arranged in case of an early flight back or other reasons. The base manager together with the captain is checking the yacht with the same inventory list they have used during check-in.
The client, along with a "questionnaire" for our services, must sign a final accounting statement.
